Random rpc errors when validation Server 20012 R2 Failoverclusters

Hi All,

I have built 2 server 2012 r2 file clusters. The servers are bl460g8 that have been fully patched and on which the latest hp support pack has been installed.

When I validate the clusters with the second node I keep getting the following error "TheRPC server is unavailable" at random parts of the validation.

I have tried the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

- Disabling the firewall (did not make any difference)
- Disabling all but one nic and removing the nic teams ( did not make any difference)
- I used wbemtest from both nodes of each cluster to connect to each other. This worked most of the time but sometimes the wbemtest tool hanged for few minutes before returning the RPC error.
- Tried disabling tcp large offload v2 on all nics. (did not make any difference).
- Pinged the nodes from each other. The network connection seemed stable. I also tried increasing the pakket size to 1500. The ping tests were succesfull regardless of the packetsize,
- I tried remove the hp emulex nic drivers to see if the default windows nic drivers would make a difference. I still had RPC errors.

At this point I'm stuck. I decided to add the nodes to the clusters anyway to check if it would work and it did. I can succesfully failover the roles between both nodes but I would like to solve this issue but because the RPC errors are random it's difficult to troubleshoot.

Has anyone experienced this issue before or has tips to solve or further troubleshoot this issue?

Thanks.
