I had an issue where a customer put a Windows 2012 Clustered disk in Maintenance mode prior to performing some Storage controller maintenance. MPIO did not function properly.
I am having a hard time determining what Maintenance mode does to a Cluster Disk (not CSV) in Windows 2012 Failover clustering. My guess is it disables MPIO capability (?)
I have heard, not confirmed, that Disk Maintenance mode puts the disk in a state where it can only use one path, hence negating MPIO failover capability.
Can anyone comment, confirm or give me a pointer on what Disk maintenance does?
