Nodes part of a cluster (Failover Cluster Manager) producing errors overnight (Security handshake did not complete)

Hi

We have 2 Cisco UCS boxes with a number of blades running windows server 2008 sp2. On these servers we have set up two separate windows clusters using Failover Cluster Manager - one with 2 nodes and one with 4 nodes. We've noticed that randomly at some point in the night (ranging from midnight to 6am) there are a few errors in the cluster event log relating to a security handshake failing to complete within 30 seconds. This error appears on both clusters although less often on one than the other.

Here's the error message:

Security Handshake between Joiner and Sponsor did not complete in '30' Seconds, node terminating the connection

Event ID 1282

There does not seem to be any other errors or warnings associated with this message and also no indication that any of the nodes have become unavailable or unjoined from the cluster at any point.

I've researched the eventlog entry quite a bit but it seems that it's almost invariably seen when people are trying to add a node to a cluster or carry out some other kind of manual task. Given the times that this error message has occurred in our environment it's safe to say that nobody would have been logged in tampering with the cluster, so I'm not sure why these messages are occurring or even exactly what they are telling us.

Any help / clarification would be appreciated!

Thanks
