Local Cluster, Remote Domain Controller

Hello,

This is more so a general 'what if' type of question.  If we create a Server 2008 R2 local cluster with local storage, but have the Domain Controllers at a remote site and the WAN link drops/fails for an extended period of time, what happens to the cluster itself?

I have read online that the cluster will not start if it cannot communicate with a DC, but my question really is, if the cluster is already up and running does it continue to run, does it shut itself down after a while or does something really funky happen to it?

Thanks in advance,

CU
