Cluster network name resource 'Cluster Name' failed registration of one or more associated DNS name(s) for the following reason:
DNS bad key.
.
Ensure that the network adapters associated with dependent IP address resources are configured with at least one accessible DNS server.
Hi all, the above error is being displayed on a 4 Node Hyper-V setup that has been configured using Failover Cluster Manager. All nodes and roles are up and running without a problem. CAU has also been configured and is tested and working. I believe these errors are related to our DNS Servers.
We use BIND9 Linux DNS server that are unfortunately manually updated by the Linux administrators.
The Individual Hosts and the Cluster object have been configured in BIND9 and are available. The hosts have static bind9 dns servers configured which are working correctly. The EventID in Event Viewer does not explain what information it is trying to add/update onto the DNS servers.
If I knew this information, it could be added which would clear up the event logs on the hosts and in Failover Cluster Manager.
Is there any way of finding out what the hosts/cluster is trying to write to the DNS servers?
If there is not, am I going to have to have the Linux admins allow the hosts/cluster object to dynamically update the zone?
Thanks in advance,
Graham
