Remove Cluster Disk - The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation

I have a 3 node 2008R2 cluster for hyper-v, I had an issue with my shared storage box and one of my iSCSI volumes used as a cluster shared volume got corrupted, causing all sorts of problems for the nodes. In my wisdom I deleted the volume on the san itself which has resolved the problems I was having. I now want to clear up the old cluster disk in my cluster and start again.

However as the volume is no longer available on the storage the status of the cluster disk is 'Online Pending' this causes a problem when try to remove the disk. I've tried using the failover cluster manager to remove the disk and also PowerShell command 'Remove-Cluster Resource "Cluster Disk 1" -force' but both report the same error 'Error Code: 0x8007139f - The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation.'

What else could I try to forcibly remove this disk?

Any help much appreciated,

Rob
