Inquiry Regarding Hyper-V Witness Disk Configuration In Windows Server 2012 R2

Good afternoon,

I am in the process of re-setting up my 5th Hypervisor which will be running Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter. I will be using this hypervisor to re-build my Hyper-V failover cluster which will include 4 existing Hypervisors which I will be upgrading to Windows Server 2012 R2.

The current 4 hypervisor which I will be upgrading currently have a witness disk configured and what I need to know is whether I can use the existing witness disk or whether I should create a new one?

If I should create a brand new Hyper-V witness disk will these steps suffice:

1. Create a new LUN 2GB in size.

2. Create a 2GB virtual disk in the 2GB LUN

3. Attach the LUN to the 5th Hypervisor via Failover Cluster Manager

4. Right click on the cluster name, Configuration, Configure the Quorum.

Please let me know if I am going about this correctly.

Thanks in advance!
