re-create clustername in AD

I have a two node cluster running HyperV and the cluster just started spitting out errors that it couldn't bring the clustername online.  This is the error message:

Cluster network name resource 'Cluster Name' cannot be brought online. The computer object associated with the resource could not be updated in domain 'mydomain'. The error code was 'Unable to find computer account on DC where it was created'. The cluster identity 'HYPERCLUSTER$' may lack permissions required to update the object. Please work with your domain administrator to ensure that the cluster identity can update computer objects in the domain.
I read through this article: http://blogs.technet.com/b/askcore/archive/2009/04/27/recovering-a-deleted-cluster-name-object-cno-in-a-windows-server-2008-failover-cluster.aspx

I verified that the AD account still exists.  This is an isolated environment, so no one else has been mucking with the AD or HyperV servers.  I pulled the GUID for the account in AD and it doesn't match the GUID that the cluster wants (from the registry, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Cluster\Resources\<the resource from ClusterNameResource>\Parameters\ObjectGUID.  I tried updating this key on both nodes and then tried to bring the name online, but that still didn't work.

Is there a way to just delete the name that's there and re-create it?  Right clicking on the name ->  more actions -> repair ad computer account, does nothing.  I really don't want to destroy the cluster and re-create it as that would mean downtime for all the VMs.
