We have a Microsoft failover cluster on Windows 2008 DataCenter R2 with two Dell R510 servers as nodes connecting to one EqualLogic SAN. There are 4 VMs on the cluster. Last night, Microsoft update reboots the node A automatically. All VMs except one VMM) switch to node B and work fine. The VMM server was shutdown because it didn’t failover to node B and restarts after node A comes back. The cluster has these Events:
Event ID 1069: Cluster resource 'Virtual Machine VMM' in clustered service or application 'VMM' failed.
Event ID 1205: The Cluster service failed to bring clustered service or application 'VMM' completely online or offline. One or more resources may be in a failed state. This may impact the availability of the clustered service or application.
Why the VMM doesn’t move to node B? How do you troubleshoot it? Thank you.
