Hi
We have a Server 2012 file server VM that has a 20 TB (3.73 actual size)dynamically expanding vhdx. All VMs are hosted on Hyper-V cluster. All VMs are stored on SOFS shares.
Randomly(about every 6 months) this file server will go into a continuous reboot loop. When I disconnect the 20 TB data vhdx it boots fine.
Sparse attribute shows as not set, but when I copy the file it mounts fine. The last time this happened in August I was able to run a compact in Hyper-V manager and it mounted. This time the compact does not work.
This seems to happen around shadow copy time around 7am when it happens. I also have hourly Appassure backups occurring.
Could it be VSS operations corrupting the VHDX?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
