Hi All,
I have registered a new storage class resource using "Add-ClusterResourceType" PS cmdlets for windows server 2012 failover cluster. After creating a new Role and adding that resource through Failover Cluster Manager, it appears as "Other Resources" instead of "Storage / Disk Resource" at lower pane of Roles (as per the new GUI of Windows 2012). It allows to configure the properties but does not show volume details. It also does Online, Offline or Failover properly.
While adding it as a "Storage" it discovers and shows all dynamic volumes / mount points in dialog box whereas after addition it does not show these details under "Storage->Disks" view inside cluster manager and also does not show/allow any other operations using right click. It does not even allow to delete it once added whereas it shows details and allows operations for physical disks added as a storage.
After adding a "Client Access Point" resource in the same Role where the dynamic storage resource is present, it does not launch any dialog for "Add File Share" operation whereas it launches a dialog for the Role with basic disk.
This problem is specific to Windows Server 2012 and the same resource works for Windows Server 2008 R2.
Does somebody hit the same issue or have any idea what could be the reason?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance !
