friends i want to understand the best practices of taking the backup of VMs on a hyperV cluster.
Scenario is if we have a hyperV cluster with different kind of work loads runnign on windows 2008 R2 Sp1 how you guys are taking the VM backups of VHDs to protect in case of any failure.
Failure could be host failure
site failure. I want to have a VM backup on an external storage but i am not able to identify the tool which can perform this for me.
I tried Altaro ... it put the VM on pause which is not good because this you cant use in production
i tried Veeam, simple and nice software but while the backup is happening .. my host/ storage cluster was showing, backup process is running and redirected access and the performance was very bad. email flow was totally stopped.so this also was not able to give me what i wanted
guys please share your experience on how you are protecting your setup.
Thanks, Happiness Always
