I have a six node cluster named HVCL01 with an IP address of 192.168.0.149. Whatever the current host server is for the cluster has a name record with the same IP address. So, if the current host server is HV05 then it has an IP address of 192.168.0.149 which matches the record for HVCL01. The problem is when the cluster is moved to another host. Say I drain roles on HV05 and HVCL01 is moved to HV03. HV05 is deregistered and the name record for HV03 is modified (or recreated?) to match the cluster IP of 192.168.0.149. HV05 is then left without a record at all. If I add a record for HV05 then everything is good until the cluster IP moves to another host and then HV03 would be left without a record.
Any ideas on what's going on?
Thanks!
Roger
