Hi,
So first of all I'm quite new to Clustering and High Availability so I'm kinda stumped with this.
A client of ours is in the process of changing their LAN's IP addresses to a different subnet (they've been acquired by another company). They have a Cluster with 9 nodes and 100+ VMs in Hyper-V.
They need to leave some of the VMs' IP addresses unchanged, so they will have 2 subnets of VMs running on the same cluster.
So I guess my question is, how do we do this? Any particular steps that we need to take first before we change the VMs' IP addresses? Do we need to change the Host's IP address first?
We've actually tried to change just the VM's IP address but they just lost connectivity.
EDIT:
I've just read somewhere about adding an IP address resource for multi-subnet Clusters and then configuring it's Dependencies. Not sure if that has any relevance to my situation...
Please let me know if you need more info from me. As I've said, I'm new to this and don't really know where to start.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
