I have two Windows 2008 nodes. Node 1 has an extra Lun(disk14 in disk management). This means that for some cluster disks numbered higher than 14, the disk number will be higher on node 1 in disk management. Does this matter? As I am thinking the cluster will use LUN ID or disk signature to identify disks higher than 14, rather than disk management disk number.
I was able to add 2 new disks in to the cluster , but the two disks have disk numbers that are 1 higher on node 1. The cluster certainly did not generate any errors and added the disks as normal, to the cluster storage group. This indicates that the cluster
does not use disk numbers to find disks.
