How can I manage a Windows Server 2012 Failover Cluster from Windows Server 2008 R2 or vice versa?

Good day,

I have a setup whereby I access one of the clients I provide support to using a jump server.  The jump server is running SRV2008R2 and I can manage the clusters setup with same OS version, obviously, but I am not able to manage the SRV2012 clusters from the jump server.  Every time I work on the clusters, I have to connect via the jump server and manage the 2008 clusters from there, but then I also have to mstsc to one of the 2012 servers to manage those cluster there.

If I cannot manage 2012 clusters from 2008, I thought perhaps I can then manage all clusters (2008 & 2012) from the 2012 box, but it delivers the same message there when trying to manage a 2008 cluster from 2012.

The message is:

The cluster to which you are attempting to connect is not a version of the
cluster supported by this version of Failover Cluster Manager

Thank you in advance for any and all feedback.
