Cluster Validation Wizard Brings non-Clustered Disk Offline

I have a two-node cluster. One node member has a large number of individual disks (no RAID) while the other node has the OS disk and a 2-disk Storage Pool. The CSV is purely used for a single VM that has one VHD on a iSCSI device.

When I run the Cluster Validation wizard, only on the single node with the Storage Pool does the volume assigned to the SP disappear (becomes offline, like you'd expect if the storage was part of the FCI).

Is this intentional, even if the storage isn't part of the FCI? If so, why is it only this Storage Pool on this node and not impacting the individual disks on the other node?

Images below of the configuration. The E: volume in the below screenshot is the Storage Pool that is pulled offline during the validation wizard, but as you can see, the disk isn't part of the cluster nor is the pool.
