I've been reading the forum regarding how to setup mount points within a 2012 R2 failover cluster but am still confused on correct process.
1) Create c:\MountPoint\MountPountName (have to create on each node in the cluster as c: isn't clustered so mount point root disappears once you failover).
2) Create d:\MountPoint\MountPointName (where D: is a clustered volume). In this case I would likely have a totally separate LUN added to cluster smaller in size (1GB?) and assign drive letter like D: and use as mount point root.
I've read the following restriction for mountpoints but am unclear exactly what it means... Does this mean that option 2 to create the mount point root on a clustered drive is the correct approach?
"A volume mount point cannot be created between clustered and nonclustered disks"
