Hello everyone,
I've been searching the forums and search engines everywhere and have had no luck thus-far.
Scenario:
2X Virtualized SQL Cluster nodes, Server 2008R2 Ent., SQL Server 2008R2, Disks provided by VMware Data-Stores, 3 NIC's on different subnets: Storage, Cluster (heartbeat), MGMT
The cluster was built back around 2013, cluster passed its Cluster-Validation Wizard with flying colors, all green. No driver updates since that time, Security Updates, .NET framework updates and CU's do get applied however/
Opened up Cluster-Validation Wizard to troubleshoot (what ended up being a bump in the network from a few days ago during a maintenance that generated errors ) and BAM:
Description: Failover Cluster Manager failed while managing one or more cluster. The error was 'There is an error in XML document (5, 10).'. For more information see the Failover Cluster Manager Diagnostic channel.
Tried doing Test-Cluster in PS, no go - same error.
Tried making a copy of Powershell.exe as PS.exe, made a copy of Powershell.exe.config per:
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/f6e39627-ba0a-471d-b41f-f2b5d9e5ad17/unable-to-validate-a-cluster-configuration-the-operation-has-failed-the-action-validate-a
Still no-go, different error regarding PowerShell itself not supporting the operation.
The only thing that I haven't done was a .NET remove / re-install of 4.7.2, but was concerned that the SQL Instance might have a bad day.
I cannot find any suggestions that are applicable to 5,10. Found several on 5, 73 however.
Any suggestions? I'm stumped.
